THE FISH POND

Only a little garden so only a little pond but it gives us so much pleasure watching the fish, frogs and newts. Sometimes if the pump filter clogs up and stops the garden just doesnt feel right without the sound of the water.

PINEAPPLE AND DRAGON FLY

Really thrilled to see our "pineapple" plant in flower. Really does look good but boy does it stink. No wonder flies are always hanging about it!

Had been chasing round the garden with my camera for a few days trying to get a photo of a dragon fly. Finally this one settled and posed very nicely for me.

The first few of many photos

Hubbies Rhododendron :- bought 10 years ago. A weedy little plant costing £5; the most expensive plant we had bought. Over the years it has been loving fed with an ericaceous feed after flowering up until August. Theythe experts) say we cant grow Rhodos in Great Cornard because we have the wrong soil. Just shows what a little TLC can do!

Gardenholic

I would describe myself as a gardenholic. I love being out in the garden come rain or shine - prefer it in the "shine". Now the kids are grown up with children of their own my nurturing tendencies I lavish on my plants. This last year has been a difficult one. I'm caring for my terminally ill husband and so have had less time to spend in our garden. All those years of effort in the past have paid dividends though because despite some neglet this year the garden has been better than any other year (mind you we gardeners say that every year!). I hope that some of the photos will be enjoyable to see for not only experienced gardeners but also for non-gardeners who will see what can be achieved in a small space with little money. This garden only a few years ago was one big concrete slab!
