It's strange but although E is one of the most used letters in the English alphabet we only have 3 plants beginning with E in our garden. I could cheat and put the Dog's tooth violets in under their Latin name of Erythronium but that wouldn't really be fair.
We don't really have a sunny enough aspect for our Echinea but it seems to be thriving.
I love the seeds of our Eunonymus. We grow it against the fence and I prune it hard each year to keep in trained as a fence covering plant.
Our Eucomis our Pineapple plant is a source of fun. People often think we are growing pineapples! I must say the particular variety we have smells rather putrid if you stick your nose in to sniff the flowers; probably why flies are always hanging around it; still it keeps the flies away from us!
Oooo I have 2 of the pieapple plant in my garden, well actually in my greenhouse at the moment. Are yours planted in the garden or in pots????
ReplyDeleteI do have some in pots (they seed themselves really well) but the ones in the photo are in the garden. They have come through 2 winters now.
ReplyDeleteAah! At last it is letting me in for a comment! I don't know what this trouble is... you said my blog takes ages to come up it does for me as well, I get a blue sky for ages and ages THEN white stripes (where the ads come through) THEN it appears. The trouble I had with yours is to do with popups and I tried to unblock them but something wasn't playing ball... Well I'm in now anyway so no worries. Hmm I'm sure I had a pertinent comment to make but it's gone... oops! Ok well happy new year though, give Mick my best wishes,
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
