GREEN THUMB SUNDAY

No where near as good as one of Marks Dragons & Damsel Flies photos but I was pleased that this little lady stayed still long enough for me to snap. She was right in the middle of the centre flower bed and the contortions I got into trying to get close would have made you laugh. I ended up doing a very unladylike type of Arabesque!

Wonderful shot Ruth! I am so pleased you are able to get really up close and personal with things in your garden!! Just be careful you don't do yourself any damage! {{{HUGS}}} xx

I think this is a great photograph. I haven't seen any dragonflies around yet so you are lucky, although I did see some blue tit eggs in my bird box this morning. Nature up close is just so fabulous.

You've done much better than I Ruth. I tried to catch a dragonfly on film but it flew away. Have to try again some other time. Lovely pic!

I'm so impressed with this shot -- I'm glad you went to the effort to contort yourself!

Ruth,
I love this shot of the Damselfly. We get these big rust colored Dragonflies here and these beautiful neon blue Damselflies.
I'm quite impressed you captured one on film.

Great photo. I haven't seen any dragonflies in our garden yet ... but then, maybe I haven't been looking close enough.

Nice shot!

I just came in from the garden and I had my camera with me while I was out there. I was practicing some very un-lady like positions to get perfect shots too! LOL

If you have a good zoom lens and a macro setting on your camera you can get away without doing too many odd moves. :)

Good photo Ruth. It was worth all your contortionist's efforts to get it!

Hi Ruth,
You see it's not that hard, i have got a certain image of you though getting the picture.
If you are not sure what it is , it's a large red damselfly, they are one of the first to appear .
keep up the hunting!!! and thanks for the link.
Cheers Mark

Lovely photo!

We had our own "green thumb Sunday" yesterday - weeding our garden and moving a number of bushes (roses and hydrangeas) to new spots in the garden in preparation for having a deck added to our house, which would have run through part of our garden. Hubby got to use his new gas-powered cultivator to prepare the soil. He had a great time with it!
