THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE SUNRISE

As I was up early this morning I managed to get a few snaps of dawn breaking; If you do happen to click on this to see it larger; don't worry those funny red lights aren't aliens landing; just my shaky hand and the lights on a nearby radio mast.

As the brown bin (green waste) is due for collection tomorrow I had a quick look around the garden to see if anything needed tidying up.
Our deciduous ferns have finally died back (much later than usual) and so I cut of the old fronds; all ready for spring now!
I knew I could smell a lovely scent in the air; the Christmas Box has started flowering.
The snowdrops are still very shy; hardly through at all yet.
Yet I can already see the hyacinths and bud!

I'm really excited to see that one of the hellebore plants I've grown from seed is going to flower in its second year. It's still in a pot at the moment; I'll find a gap for it in the garden once it's flowered.

As you can see the cats? have started to rip all those dumped rubbish bags open.

Do you get a decent dawn chorus in spring? I used to live about 20 yards from a graveyard... I kept the windows open each night. The music was amazing. (One great thing about Britain--apparently, there's not so many songbirds most places abroad.)
Your ref. to getting up early just reminded me.
