TREASURE - A BLOGALONG POST
For my many Blogfriends who will wonder what on earth this is all about.......I can feel you thinking it.........BLOGALONG????????? What is that!!!! Well a quick explanation before I start the post properly. There is a group called Bloggersparadise who cater especially for newbies like me. So often I found that if I went onto the Google help group for Bloggers that the answers were way over my head or I was directed to a site which as far as I was concerned was written in Martian(a language I'm not particularly au fait with!). Anyway Bloggersparadise seem to be able to spell things out quite clearly in words that even I can understand. One of the members had an idea; maybe all the members could once a month write a post on one particular topic; January's topic is TREASURE; it's going to be interesting to see how we all tackle the subject in different ways. Well enough waffling....Here's my post!
***************************************************
There are so many things in life we treasure; our husbands, wives, children, memories, that new sports car, our Beatles autograph collection....and on ....and on .......................and of course I treasure all these things with no hint of denial.......well except for the sports car and autograph collection....which I don't have but would definitely treasure if I did!!! And as an avid gardener I treasure every plant in in our garden...this all goes without saying. This post isn't going to be about any of those things though.........this is going to be about a treasure - well in fact treasureS (plural)- that I've only had for a few months. Can something I've only had for such a short time be considered TREASURE?.. I hear you ask. Oh Yes! most assuredly so. Do you want to know what it/they are? Haven't you guessed yet?...... NO????...... I'd better tell you then.
My treasures are YOU!! .................. That's right you there; THE READER; THE BLOG VISITOR.................................. The person who has come into my little world to share a part of my life. The person who has given me such pride with your comments about the garden and my silly little stories. You; the ones who have been on to my other blogs. You: the ones who visit Mick and I on "There are a million stories" and give your support when I'm feeling down and had a hard day. You; who laugh and smile with me when things have gone well. You; who are my companions on-line, my listening ears, my sounding posts. How fitting that my first Blogalong post should be dedicated to you.
"If out of all mankind one finds a single friend, he has found something more precious than any treasure, since there is nothing in the world so valuable that it can be compared to a real friend.”

Oh wow what a wonderful Treasure post!!! (mmmm am thinking I have a lot to live up to!) Your blog looks fabulous!!
That's lovely, and I agree - our cyber friends are very important - the fact that we have never met, and are unlikely to, does not lessen the positive impact we have on each others' lives - we learn so much from each other as well!
Thank you for joining in our Blogalong, and supporting Bloggers' Paradise.
I had never heard of blogalong or bloggers paradise.
And I totally agree - a faithful friend truly is a great treasure.
Thanks all; it's going to be interesting to see all the different kinds of posts all on one subject

That post is very well put.
I didn't really read blogs until I began keeping one of my own.
And I didn't realize half the fun was in the comments.
Oh, PS, thanx for the positive poetry feedback. I was quite surprised when I read them back years later, didn't recognize my own writing!!
I think I will open that other blog...
& by the way your sky photo album is amazing.
Aren't digital cameras great??
I specially loved the snaps of the vapour trails & rainbows...
I will have to go and look up this group! I Like Lottie have never heard of them.
What lovely thoughts - though when I read some of the posts on your other blog I decided that you are the real treasure.
How true it is that our firends, real or virtual, are treasures, and I have learned so much from my online friends in the last year. What a lovely garden you have!
What a wonderful post Ruth!! This is really lovely! I know for sure that through my trials and tribulations this past 19 months I wouldn't have got through without my cyber friends!! Here's to all those new friendships I have found just by starting my own blog this year!
