GETTING THE GOAT AND THE CAMEL!

What a brilliant idea! Manda has told me that at the school that she works at instead of the staff buying cards and presents for each other they are going to put that money towards buying a goat (or two) for one of the Indian villages the school supports. So much more worthwhile!
Speaking of the school; tomorrow they are performing their nativity play for the parents and on Friday having their Kris Kringle service at the church (no lighted candles in the oranges this year - health and safety and insurance problems). In previous years I have gone to these - armed with plenty of tissues - there's just something about children singing carols that makes my eyes water in torrents. I will really miss going this year but I'm sure Manda will tell me all about it. She has already seen the Nativity play dress rehearsal and I MUST tell you about that!!!!!
  • It seems that some of the children are going to be dressed as Camels. In order to make them look more camel-like one of the helpers has made them some TAILS out of a peach coloured material and stuffed them to give them more body. Manda said they looked very effective swishing about behind the children as they walked on stage. The problem was when the children sat down - with the tails being a bit cumbersome to actually SIT on they pulled them up between their legs.
  • Now start picturing this in your mind.
  • The children (TAILS IN HANDS) started "WAVING THEIR FLESH COLOURED TAILS IN TIME TO THE MUSIC AND SINGING "O COME ALL YE FAITHFUL".
  • That's it close your eyes and just imagine the scene ..........you've got it haven't you???????????? I so wish I had a video of it. Manda said she and some of the other teachers who had spotted the somewhat risque humour in the situation were trying so hard not to laugh. Some of the slightly older children in the school who were watching also spotted the innuendo and there was much giggling, nudging and winking in the ranks.

I think the format may be changed slightly before the parents see it tomorrow.
