A THURSDAY THOUGHT

a thought for Thursday

IF MONEY DOESN'T GROW ON TREES,

WHY DO BANKS HAVE BRANCHES?

MONEY TREE

Mrs Nesbitt has passed along this award

she has kindly passed it on as an open award....no tagging involved....please feel free to copy it yourself and add it to your own blogs......after all you are all FABULOUS aren't you!...I think so.

Thanks also to MrsN for reminding me that it's

National Poetry Day

Just click on the logo above to learn more. One poem I remember well from my schooldays was this one by Siegfried Sassoon........

THE DRAGON AND THE UNDYING

ALL night the flares go up; the Dragon sings
And beats upon the dark with furious wings;
And, stung to rage by his own darting fires,
Reaches with grappling coils from town to town;
He lusts to break the loveliness of spires,
And hurls their martyred music toppling down.
Yet, though the slain are homeless as the breeze,
Vocal are they, like storm-bewilder'd seas.
Their faces are the fair, unshrouded night,
And planets are their eyes, their ageless dreams.
Tenderly stooping earthward from their height,
They wander in the dusk with chanting streams,
And they are dawn-lit trees, with arms up-flung,
To hail the burning heavens they left unsung.

Hey here's a sociological thought for you: money DOES grow on trees!

Money's the value of food, or rather the cost of the effort involved in food production or the cost of employing staff... if money didn't grow on trees (or start from the value of food) there would be no money and the world's economies would collapse!

By the way, tell Miss Neva I'm quite angry with her... not seeing her around that often... See you soon... by the way, banks have branches cause those vultures need places to rest and watch the dying folks...

Isn't it marvellous how we still remember the poems we learned by heart at school? Great Dragon poem! I hadn't read that one before.
