A BIT OF FUN!
Saw this poll on Talj's blog and thought it looked interesting...especially in the light of it being Budget Day yesterday....maybe Gordon Brown could do something like this with our taxes...pay £1 tax and you've a chance of winning £50 back!!!
I wonder if Talj's percentages will be the same as mine?

I would rather (and indeed already do!) pay small amounts every month to a wide range of charities.i think this is a good idea (and we once had a scheme like this at my daughters school) but i think if this was a charitable venture and I won I'd feel I had to donate the money to the charity LOL don't know why!! So I think I'd prefer just to give without hope of receiving, so to speak!
Interesting take on things Julie. I also pay to certain charities close to my heart every month. I do not do the lottery or anything like that but to me with this sort of thing, and I have taken part in things like this at previous places I've worked at, I just think...whats 1 pound?
Anyway, I shall keep the rest of my opinion to myself.
Sadly too many people expect to receive without giving...a sad fact of life.

I have had that idea before that they should do a Premium Bonds or Lottery type of thing with taxes. Why Not?? PS Did you hear about that World Lottery Camelot were trying to start? It would have something like a £250 million top prize. And unlike those American lotteries that seem huge like $300 million did you know they have to pay tax on that and if they opt for a lump sum only get 1/3? Hardly worth bothering ...
So true about the lotteries where we only get to keep 1/3 of the $300 million...I mean, with only $100 million you could barely get by, you know? LOL! ;-)
I seldom actually play the lottery even though I fantasize about it once in awhile. When the stakes are really high I'll buy a few tickets. Which is silly because that's when the odds are the worst. I would definitely give a lot of it to charity and to my friends and family and then with what was left over I'd buy a vacation home somewhere and I'd also stop working at my job and do volunteer work instead.
