I CANNA BELIEVE HOW WARM IT WAS

What glorious weather we had yesterday...........the skies were blue until mid afternoon and it was SO WARM!

Yet another crop of Daffs opened; these are a new little batch that I planted beside the pond last Autumn.
We even had our first tulip open!

I decided that as the weather was so nice I'd have a closer look at the cannas that were still tucked away in the shed. I was a little worried that if I didn't repot them by next year I'd have to break the pots to get them out. As you can see from this first one...some potting on was definitely needed.

I worked in this small space so hat Mick could sit in his wheelchair and make sure I did things properly! I made up a mix of compost, perlite, water granules and feed pellets
and after some splitting up ended up with 5 pots of cannas instead of 3. You can never have too much of a good thing.
After a quick tidy up of the mess I'd made it was time for lunch. The sun was still shining and so I moved Mick up the garden and we had lunch "al fresco".Manda was suitably pleased that I'd made a bread and butter pudding!

And I was pleased that the Schizanthus were germinating. The match book seed packet said keep at a temperature of 18C but these had been outside in the little plastic greenhouse!
It really was a lovely day and so good to have some quality time in the garden; and guess what.......you know the rubbish....IT'S GONE!!!!!

Our daffs are three inches from the ground...so a long way to go yet. Great blue sky too. We sat at 3 degrees all day yesterday! I thought snow was coming.

It was really warm yesterday. I looked out at the sunshine this morning and thought it was going to be the same, so I didn't bother putting my coat on to do the school run. Bad mistake. Nearly froze to death, and felt a bit of a twerp in my thin jumper, walking past all other parents wearing winter coats !!

How lovely that you have real spring already - we are still covered in snow and ice, and it's still bitterly cold here! Soon...soon!

It was a lovely day wasn't it! I must take a closer look at my cannas and see if anything is happening!

I'm so jealous! It was 10 degrees F. this morning (That's well below 0 in Centigrade!). Terrible weather for mid-March.

Oh well, at least our clocks are changing to Daylight Savings this weekend - 3 weeks earlier than in the past! Yay!

Enjoy your daffodils! They're lovely!

It's all starting to get very exciting in the garden now. I'm looking forward to seeing it all in bloom in the coming months.

Oh Ruth... that was really too cruel... It was in the 20's here today. At least the sun was shining...
