Hi Ruth Thank you for your well wish and concern. im pleased to say my tests were good. see blog. IOoohhh I just love your roses and im sure the perfume is a delight.
Your roses are lovely. I did the same thing yesterday and took photos of all the roses in my garden ready for Green Thumb Sunday! Geat minds think alike. You have a large variety of roses. Sara from farmingfriends
Lovely roses! Our climbing rose is blooming but our other roses were just transplanted to get them out of the way as we're building a deck, and the buds that were on a couple of them withered. I'm not sure they're going to survive the transplant. There are a couple that may be OK but several are very unhappy.
I bought some rue recently. it has a strong scent, which seems to change with the weather!
I have mints, thyme, marjoram, oregano, parsley. Then rosemary and lavender. There are poppies scattered around them, and now I have to find a place for the rue.
I wonder if it would be good for scaring off bugs. It really has a strong smell!
Any suggestions?
Helena
-I had to delete the first attempt because I wrote "yew" instead of "rue". LOL! That's insomnia for ya!
Hi Helena; rue is supposed to have quite magical properties and was used by witches!! and there's lots of folklore about it. If you hang muslin bags of dried rue in cupboards it's supposed to deter insects, and also is said to work in the garden. I think you have to be a bit careful of the sap though. Rx
