SHOUTING FROM THE RAMP-PARTS!
Nicole's (grandaughter) school are having an Open Learning Week this week and each child can choose an exciting activity to do. There's a wide variation to choose from...Go Karting, Swimming & Ice Skating, A Thorpe Park trip and Paintballing to name just a few. What has Nicole chosen?........The Sudbury Conservation Project. Out of all those exciting things she has chosen what many children may think is the hardest and most boring. The "work" she will be doing is part of a construction project to build a ramp to improve access to the Meadows for wheelchair uses..........and why did she choose this.......because (her words )she knew how difficult it was for us to take her Grandad (Mick) out to the countryside with his wheelchair and wants to make sure that in the future other people in wheelchairs will be able to get access . I am so proud of her; while many of her friends are doing all the "fun" stuff she will be knee deep in concrete and timber. I know I'm a biased Grandma but ..................
HURRAH FOR NICOLE

I'm sure she'll have just as much fun & will come away with a sence of achievement that will warm her heart for a long time to come. Well done Nicole x x
ytime I have helped with voluntary work I have had a MUCH better time than the other fun activities you mentioned. Believe me she will have a ball.
Nicole phoned me earlier had a great time and I'm hoping to go with her on Saturday to take some photos of the finished item.
I am positive that she will get much more out of that than the other things - and when she visits she will be able to proudly say - I helped make that - it will be there always, as a reminder
