GREEN THUMB SUNDAY

I think this is a moth caterpiller...who needs science fiction characters with colourful creatures like this in our gardens. Sisah has suggested it could be Orgyia antiqua, the rusty tussock moth....I did a Google and it certainly looks similar. Thanks Sisah!

Fantastic slide show, brilliant photos of this very strange looking caterpillar. As far as I could find out it is a Orgyia antiqua, the rusty tussock moth.

The slide show really makes this guy creepy! I haven't seen many caterpillars yet but I do have something eating my tender new shoots. I plan to do a research today!

Thanks for viewing my weed today! Now those are plants I can grow and grow lots of with little effort!

very interesting! The slide makes it even more so. I wonder what the adult moth looks like?

Wow! So beautiful and yet ... not! I don't see many caterpillars here in the islands. While I'm not squeamish about little, many-legged critters, I really don't miss them at all. The photos are lovely, though!
