JUST A QUICKIE

Bit busy today getting the house in order for this weekend's visitors so no cuppa I'm afraid.

Just time to show you the two different coloured Irises we have

and, at last, the flowers have started to open on my Hellebore seedling that I've been growing for two years. So pleased; don't have the space to keep every seedling so I'm happy that I made a good choice here.

Have a great weekend all....in case I don't do another post before Monday!

What a coincidence! I was outside planting a hellebore today, though I cheated and bought mine last Sunday from the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh! It helps their funds. Yours is extra special though, since you reared and nurtured it. Well done, Ruth!

Simply gorgeous!! I hope you have a lovely weekend... and I'll try not to be too envious that you've got plants sprouting while I've got another 6 inches of snow...sigh.

Oh, that dark hellebore is sooo pretty! I would love to have such colours, too but so fare, my ones are just white... which is pretty as well.

BTW, would you like to join me for a cup of coffee in the sun on my garden bench? Come along!

Mummy's favourite flowers are irises but she didn't plant any.It is too windy for tall flowers in the front garden... but we have snowdrops and crocuses.

For the last few years I've grown marigolds from seed and the biggest was 3ft tall. I must get sowing soon....

Anyway Ruth, it's been too cold for bears, and I had to hibernate for a while. I'm back out now though and I built a snowbear. I put a photo of him on my blog.

We drove through Great Cornard last week, on the way to Sudbury...

The Iris is one my favorite flowers! Yet I only have one in my garden--it's blooming. My daffodils are blooming, and I'll try to get a picture up soon.

I'm envious as well - even though I'm in sunny Australia at the moment I know back in New Jersey it is very cold and snow is expected tonight. It's great you have flowers already!
