SPRING IS ON IT'S WAY - HONEST!

After all the rain yesterday the day ended on a real "shepherd's delight" note; lovely pink skies befitting Valentine's Day as it came to a close. This morning peering out into the darkness I can see the frost on the cars; it looks like it was a heavy one and I can feel in my bones that a bright sunny day is on its way.
I didn't get to do much snapping yesterday because of the rain but did spot this little aconite that had appeared almost overnight. Another sign of Spring on it's way.

The snow drops are coming out in full force too even though it will be a few months before the sun reaches any where near this end of the garden
I know that quite a few of you are under heavy snow at the moment; Sheila and Women on the Verge have both commented on it............it won't be long girls before Spring creeps over to you so keep smiling!

Ruth--

A heartfelt thank you for the sunshine... it's the first I've seen in days. Still snowing like the dickens here. I took my kids out yesterday and the snow was at my 9 year old's hips. She had to use a hockey stick to help her pull herself through the snow.
Though I have to admit, it was pretty cool laying on our backs in all that snow and watching it fall down on us in clumps because it was coming down so fast. We also sat and caught snowflakes on our mittens. It's amazing how, when looked at individually, they are all so different and beautiful, but when together they just look like a big white blanket...

Well, at least if I can't enjoy my garden, I can enjoy yours!

talj; hope the sun struggled through for you.
jeanette; I leave my snowdrops to die down naturally as it feds the bulb...mind you I think you get sun quicker than us so that probably helps them store up enough goodess for the next year.
E; sound like you had some fun in the snow....it's just dragging on for a while for you. They say no two snowflakes are exactly the same....I wonder how "they" know that???

Thank you for the kind words... I think I may have to research the snowflake question ( I hate a puzzle!)

Also, I left a question for you at my site and I'm dying to get the answer ( having to do with "Health and Safety concerns)... I'll try to be patient...being patient... are you there yet???? ;-)

I was just at Elsie's place and saw the lemon verbena tips you left... do they work for the lemon balm as well? I love planting lemon balm every year (it's an annual here) and I use it in my tea, but I've never thought of using it to flavor sugar for muffins...hugs to you and Mick :-)

E; lemon balm will be fine. You may like to see this recipe

Also as a cosmetic, it makes a good skin cleanser. Steamy facials are recommended for acne as it's antibacterial. Dry leaves are used in potpourri. It is reputed to repel insects and can be blended with other insect repelling herbs such as lavender, lemongrass, and rue. Rub down your kitchen table with the herbs to keep bugs from food and throw some on your bbq to keep bugs away (when you get the weather for bbqs.
